Hi, I'm Janice, half of the sister team bringing you mo'mugi. Originally from Toronto, I've lived in Tokyo for 20 years and my family, including two kids, drink about two litres of mo'mugi all day, every day.
We could never be without our favourite drink. We just couldn't live without roasted barley tea! So every year coming to Canada to visit family I had to lug tons of barley teabags from Japan to keep us going all summer. The teabags were taking up too much valuable real estate in my suitcase and one day I got frustrated and said, 'Where is this stuff from, anyway?' And guess what? Some of the barley in the teabags was from Canada!
I immediately had a flashback to my days in the media copywriting course at Humber College, waayyy back in 1995 when a charismatic Canadian CEO spoke to our class and said "Why does Canada import products using raw materials that we already have? Why can't we make the products ourselves?"
We can. So right then I decided it was about time mo'mugi came to Canada. We really want to share Japan's best-kept tea secret with all Canadians, from babies to adults who want a truly toasty delicious, healthy, refreshing, and thirst-quenching drink without all the caffeine, calories, and sugar!

Hi, I'm Cilla, the other half of the mo'mugi sister team! I live in beautiful BC, where the organic barley is as good as it gets.
My family and I love mo'mugiand unlike juice, I never worry how much my kids drink it, because mo'mugi doesn't contain any sugar.
When I heard it's one of the first drink babies have in Japan, I was hooked.
But as a Registered Dental Hygienist with over 25 years experience, what impressed me the most about mo'mugiis that it's scientifically proven to help prevent tooth decay, it won't cause cavities, and it doesn't stain teeth like tea and coffee. Check out our top ten reasons to drink mo'mugi for all the details.
If everyone drank mo'mugithat would make my job a lot easier. And there'd be a lot more happy teeth and smiles out there!
I think the natural, toasty taste of a hot mug of mo'mugiis perfect for Canada's chilly winter days and I love that it contains antioxidants but doesn't contain caffeine.
I also love it cold when I'm bored with water but want to pass on sugary, horrifically calorific drinks.
So what are you waiting for? Don't you want to be among the first Canadians to try it? Check our buy now page to see where you can get your mo'mugi today!
