We could never be without our favourite drink. We just couldn't live without roasted barley tea!
So every year coming to Canada to visit family I lugged tons of barley teabags from Japan to keep us going all summer.
The teabags hogged too much of my suitcase space. One day I got frustrated and said, 'Where is this stuff from, anyway?' And guess what? Some of the barley in the teabags was from Canada!
I immediately had a flashback to my days at Humber College, waayyy back in 1995 when a charismatic Canadian CEO spoke to our class and said "Why does Canada import products using raw materials that we already have?
Why can't we make the products ourselves?"
We can.
So right then I decided it was about time mo'mugi came to Canada.
As a Canadian drink, Canadian brand, and a Canadian company.
We really want to share Japan's best-kept tea secret with all Canadians, from babies to adults!
